Sun Rise (Balanced breakfast brilliance in a glass)

2 cups coconut milk

3 ice cubes

2 cups strawberries

Giant bunch of spinach

Water as needed

1 banana

2 tablespoons Flax seeds

2 tablespoons of sunflower seeds

Stevia as needed to add sweetness to desired taste

Blue Blast (Great recovery smoothie before or after a hard workout)

2 cups water (or as needed to obtain the desired consistency)

3 ice cubes

3-5 stalks kale (de-stemmed)

2 cups sugar free coconut milk

2-3 cups blueberries

Giant bunch of spinach

1 pear or apple

1 banana

3 tablespoons flax seeds

Stevia as needed to add sweetness to desired taste

Virago (Lower carb; balanced meal)

4 celery stalks

1 teaspoon Spirillina

½ - 1 avocado

1 lemon

2-3 stalks of kale (de stemmed)

1 clove garlic

1 tablespoon (or a small chunk) miso

Hot pepper according to desired taste

Viridian (Light stomach soothing smoothie)

Spiritual Strength Training

I believe at the depth of my being, that true success lies not in what we attain, but in what we overcome. As one who lives and breathes fitness in all its profound challenges and highs, I am continually inspired by the natural experiences which prove to be metaphoric of my spiritual experiences.

We are all required to face profound personal challenges, great battles that can only be won with the right tools, the support of one another (the WHOLE body of Christ) and the right preparation. As I prepare my students to use their muscles, determination and dedication to gain the rewards of physical strength, endurance, confidence and beauty, I am empowered in my own life to recognize how my own ‘teacher’ (my Personal Trainer) is doing exactly the same with me. As I encounter painful experiences; HARD and weighty encounters in life, I know it is all for my growth; It is for my joy which will be complete on the other side of the suffering as I recognize what it is producing in me.

The confidence that the physical workouts build with in me carry over into confidence to endure through those spiritual workouts; aka life’s tough stuff.

The Bible emphasizes the value of this endurance. It is written, “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says …….To him who overcomes, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life…” Revelations 2:7 It is not written, to him who has attained righteousness, or to him who has given the most possessions, or to him who has grown the largest churches.

As for myself, I don’t give random workouts to my clients; NO, they are carefully tailored to their individual needs, precisely designed to strengthen their weak areas, and masterfully crafted to empower them to reach their goals. In a similar way, God orchestrates our ‘workouts’ with precision, intent and ALWAYS with our best interest in mind.

This brings me much comfort as I know that each trial reveals a newly emerging spiritual warrior, a courageous warrior in this life’s boot camp; a spiritual warrior called forth with the promise that we will earn THE LIFE, that we were born for, reaping the greatest of successes as we receive MIGHTY grace to overcome; to BE OVERCOMERS!
